Business Development - VERDEN Guest Supplies 


Meaning ‘the world’ or ‘the earth’ in Danish, VERDEN is a natural fragrance brand for bath, body and home. VERDEN was founded by Charlotte Semler and Arabella Preston – the team behind Votary skincare.

Launched in 2021, VERDEN is stocked in key retail stores like Liberty, Selfridges and John Lewis.  VERDEN amenities are found in a small selection of independent luxury hotels and hospitality venues.

Job description:

  • Identify hotel and hospitality clients who fit the VERDEN brand profile.
  • Present, promote and sell VERDEN amenities to hospitality clients.  
  • Reach out to client leads through cold calling/emailing and field trips. 
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive relationships with key decision makers and influencers in client organisations to maintain flow of repeat orders. 
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets. 
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments. 
  • Process orders through our order process flow.  
  • Coordinate shipments to hospitality clients with our warehouse.
  • Work with the rest of the team to resolve any customer problems and complaints to ensure client satisfaction. 
  • Communicate customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services to the wider team.
  • Keep abreast of best practice and industry trends
  • Track sales and produce sales reports. 

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • A successful track record in sales or pr - ideally in hospitality, travel, cosmetics or other luxury goods
  • A network of contacts in the hotel and hospitality industry
  • Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Great people skills and the ability to collaborate with with the wider team
  • A self starter who enjoys taking responsibility for a business area
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships and selling product

About this role:

  • This role is offered on a part time basis 
  • This role is suitable for remote working, flexible hours and could be term-time only.
  • Our head office is in Oxford and you would be very welcome to work from there if/when it suits.
  • Salary dependent on experience.  Commission on sales will form a significant part of the compensation.
